Established in 1973, the Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship recognizes and promotes the virtues of good citizenship. Any person or organization can nominate an individual by completing an application form by July 16, 2004.

Community Action Awards

Dr. Marie Bountrogianni, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration announces the call for nominations for the Community Action Awards for 2004.

Through these awards, the Province of Ontario recognizes individuals who have been instrumental in effecting positive change for persons with disabilities in Ontario.

Each year, 15 Ontarians are chosen to receive the Community Action Award. These are individuals who have made a significant contribution to their communities by promoting integration and independence, showing commitment and dedication to developing the potential of persons with disabilities and improving their quality of life; and demonstrating leadership in preventing and removing barriers that impede the full participation of persons with disabilities in our society. Any person or organization can nominate an individual by completing an application form by July 16, 2004.

Senior Achievement Awards

The Honourable John Gerretsen, Minister Responsible for Seniors announces the 2004 Senior Achievement Award Program.
